Handy Man

Callen just came out of his room with his tool box..."Hey Mom, I fixed your sink!"  Isn't that the cutest thing!  Now if he could really just do all the chores to I don't have too!

Inspiration

I was given a "mommy journal" by my sister in law when Callen was born.  I loved it so much that I made one for Claysen too and several to pass on to my new mommy friends.  A friend of mine is expecting her second child, a little girl, and requested a second book for her.  This is what I created.

I almost didn't want to give it away.  The book came printed with the tan, green and rust colored design and I embelshed it with the ribbon, flower and metal brads and frame.

The world is new again

Callen got his glasses on Friday afternoon.  He looked at me first after putting them on in the store.  The way he looked at me was how infants stare at your face to study it.  It brought tears to my eyes to see the expression on his face.  On the ride home I asked him if things looked different to him.  He said things looked bigger.  I noticed he studied his hands and fingers closely, turning them over and over.  When we got home he went outside to play.  He picked a blade of grass and commented how big it looked.  He sat for a while under the forsynthia bush and turned the branches over in his hands just starring at them.

He commented Saturday afternoon that things looked blurry and took the glasses off.  I looked at them and the lenses were covered in fingerprints.  I cleaned them off and asked him to put them back on.  He didn't complain anymore.  He has been very careful with them and seems happy when people notice he has new glasses.

Rest in Peace

Rusty's grandmother, Bessie Nye, passed away on 2/27.  She will be missed.
