Rodeo kid

Callen loved the rodeo. He sat very well, clapped and was amazed. Claysen did pretty well until about 9:30 pm. By then he was pretty tired. I am glad that we had a paid seat for him because he gets tired of being held. (Imagine that, a kid that doesn't want you to hold him!) He sat some in the seat and played, but never went to sleep. I feed him and got his pjs on in the parking lot before going home and he fell asleep on the way home.
Callen's favorite part was the intermission act, The One Armed Bandit. He herds a pair of buffalo up onto the top of his trailer and rides his horse up there. He sure likes the bucking bulls too. He stayed up until we got home too.

I am sure that he will love the next rodeo in August, Claysen may not get to go to that one, bleachers aren't a baby's friend if you know what I mean.

Guess What? I love you!

Rusty and I used to say this to each other and now Rusty has taught it to Callen. It is the most heartwarming thing to hear when you are just doing regular stuff and he comes out of the blue, "Mom, Guess what?" he says, "What?" I say, "I love you" he says. Being a parent is the best thing in the whole world.

Claysen sat still the other night while I clipped his finger nails. This is such big news to me because I still have to clip Callen's while he is asleep. I was just baffled that a 10 month old would sit and watch patiently. I can't tell you how much he is the best baby! Sleeps all night, sticks to his schedule, goes down for naps well, eats well and plays contently.

Rusty got free tickets to the Snake River Stampede this Saturday so we are taking the family. Callen is so excited to go. Rusty told him about it when he got the tickets and the exicted is only multiplying as it gets closer!

Callen is starting to play with Claysen. Callen will set up this corral around Claysen and then play with the cows, horses, sheep and pig with Claysen. Sometimes Callen will get mad at Claysen for messing up the pen, but mostly they play well together. Callen also likes to buck around pretending to be a bucking bull or horse. Claysen will just laugh and laugh at him. Sooner or later Callen is bucking and butts Claysen, knocking him over and bucking over him. Claysen laughs for a minute or two more, but then Callen gets a little too rough and we have a crying baby. They are at least learning each others limits.

It is great too see their brotherly bond developing.

Share your Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Thanks Teri for the idea, hope you get lots of responses!

Claysen is Crawling!

We've been patiently waiting for this day. Claysen has been getting round by rolling and scooting. Thursday my sitter said he crawled a little ways at her house. I got so see him crawl at home this weekend. Rusty was "helping " him out the other day holding his belly up while he moved his legs, I think that must of gotten the light bulb to go off.

So now the days are going to go even faster and be busier with two mobile!
