Say Cheese

Claysen has caught on to the fact that "Say Cheese" means to smile. Only his "smile" is more of a scrunch up his face and show his teeth than a cute smile. Here it is again, but he has a cookie in his mouth so he at least spared us the gross contents.
Does he look like he is bustin' out rock song? Yet another attempt at a smile. We don't even say, "Say Cheese" to him he just sees the camera and turns it on. I love the little bit of belly showing under his shirt!

Claysen's most frequented place in the house is the pantry. I think he would eat all day if we let him! Yesterday we went for his 1 1/2 year well child check and he weighed 26.5 lbs, is 32 inches tall, and has 12 teeth! Healthy, growing boy.....full of personality!

Can you guess which boy this is?

Way back in September we has some professional photos taken. I think they turned out great. We sent some with our Christmas cards this year too. We also used this as the chance to record Claysen's one year milestone.

Enjoy!

I love where we live!

Rusty took this picture from our front yard facing east at sunset recently. Don't we have a beautiful view. This is one of the many reasons I love living here!

Our Christmas was Wonderful!

We were very lucky this year for Christmas. I think we still managed a joyous Christmas and one the boys thought was great with all the presents. The presents started coming early, the first was from one of Rusty's clients. He bought for each boy their very own golf club set sized just right! These are not the toy kind they are the real deal, metal with rubber grips, canvas bags with tripod legs too! The only kid thing about them is they are little and only three clubs to a bag! But every "Tiger" has to start with something don't they?

Next we celebrated with Rusty's sister Sheila and her family. We forgot the camera! Claysen had fun sitting on their yellow lab Sadie and playing with his 'knotwud' train set. Callen enjoys his new Flicka horses!

Papa Fred came by Monday night to see the boys. Callen can't wait to play in the sandbox with his new Tonka bulldozer! It is the original metal kind too, the best! Claysen and Callen both received Wall-E lounge pillows, you can see Claysen instantly enjoyed his kicking back with a juice box!

Christmas Eve it is our tradition to go to Grammie Weiser's house. This is Grammie Cada who lives in Weiser. Everyone usual goes so it is great to see everyone in the family. Here we celebrated with Rusty's Mom and his other sister Ginger too. She is helping Claysen open one of his gifts from Nana Faye.
It snowed all day on Christmas Eve. There was about 8-12 inches in Weiser so Callen went outside to throw a few snowballs and make a snow angel. I think this picture is pretty with the falling snow.
Claysen was one of the biggest stars of Christmas Eve. He sure put on a show for everyone. Later in the evening he did get shown up by the newest Cada Clan member, but who can blame anyone for giving an 8 week old baby more attention! That was the first time I got too see Cindi and Dustin's new baby. He is very cute. In this picture Claysen is walking around in circles bobing his head to the clip clop and whineying of his new horse from Aunt Ginger. You press it's tummy and it makes noise. He kept bringing it back to us to turn it back on. A few days later he figured out that if he put in on the floor and pushed down with both hands he could make it go off too.
Christmas morning we stayed home and did our little family thing and opened gifts from each other. Santa left a Little People airplane for Claysen and the Let's go Fishing game for Callen. I think Callen thought his stocking was cooler than the game.
The boys had fun helping Rusty open his new aluminum breifcase. Rusty bought me a unique mother's ring. It is two sterling silver bands intertwined. Each band has one of the boy's names on it. You can see an example at nelleandlizzy.com. I really like it.
We celebrated later in the day with my family over at my brother's house. We do "santa sacks" for everyone in addition to presents so Callen had fun getting more stocking stuff. We took the 4-wheeler and pulled the kids around their pasture on sleds. I forgot to get Claysen's snow boots and pants so he wore some slick sweats I had in the diaper bag of Callen's (the weren't too big around just extra long) and plastic bags over his shoes! I already had the hat, coat and gloves packed, but his boots and pants were in his room and he was napping when I was packing up everyone elses stuff so I made a mental note to get it later and then forgot! Go figure.
Callen got some watercolor paints in his Santa sack and enjoyed learning how to paint!

Claysen got a tunnel from my brother's family. He thinks it is pretty cool, so does big brother. They have fun in it together.
Happy New Year!
